Edwina White: "Catherine de Medici"
15 October 2005 17:41 PM

Having her cake and eating it too—no, wait. That was Catherine the Great, not Catherine de Medici. No, no it was Marie Antoinette. Regardless, this here aristocratic beauty is having her sausage and eating it, and by the looks of her transparent skirts, it isn’t the only kind of sausage she’s likely to be spearing on a fork and pointing toward her interior cavities. Deftly drawn and collaged, this fragment of a larger work makes one hungry for more, just as the smidgen of text trapped under the lady’s right thigh makes one wonder how the rest of the story goes.
