What excites in one medium does not always thrill in another. Sally Robinson deftly cuts and twists colored plastic into an electrifying sculpture that bundles neon orange and maroon into a remarkably subtle color combination. Those same colors and forms, painted alongside others onto two-dimensional surfaces, go mushy and flat. Yellow light, refracted every which way through some unknown material and captured photographically, intrigues with an otherworldly presence and dizzying all-overness. A monochromatic painting crisscrossed with red ochre lacks any sense of mystery or challenge.
